March at Still Sisters
Celebrating Women in Business:
March is a month of action, empowerment, and celebration. As a female-founded and female-led spirits brand, Still Sisters is passionate about championing women in business, hospitality, in our communities and beyond. This Women’s History Month, we’ve been reflecting on what it means to be a female entrepreneur, celebrating the incredible women we work alongside, and taking bold steps towards creating safer, more inclusive spaces.
What It Means to Be a Female-Founded Spirits Brand
Still Sisters was built on the values of community, collaboration, and resilience. Being a female-founded brand in the spirits industry—an industry that historically hasn’t always made space for women—means challenging outdated norms, supporting each other, and proving that there’s room for all of us at the table (or behind the bar).
We work with incredible women across our supply chain, from growers to distillers to bar owners, and we see firsthand the talent, creativity, and leadership that women bring to this industry. It’s not just about making great gin (though we do that rather well); it’s about fostering an industry that welcomes and empowers women at every level.
Free the Night: Taking Action with FearFree
One of the most inspiring moments of this month was our participation in the first-ever Free the Night event in Trowbridge, working alongside the brilliant team at FearFree. This initiative was all about reclaiming the streets, making nightlife safer, and ensuring women feel empowered to enjoy nights out without fear.
Walking through Trowbridge and discussing real solutions to tackle safety concerns was a moment of both reflection and action. We left feeling empowered and energised, ready to keep pushing for change. As business owners, community members, and women, we know that progress doesn’t happen unless we actively work for it.
Recognised Among Inspiring Women
March also brought an honour we’re incredibly proud of—being named among Swindon & Wiltshire’s Most Inspiring Women 2025!
Being recognised alongside so many brilliant female leaders is humbling and motivating. This nomination isn’t just about us—it’s about every woman pushing boundaries, breaking glass ceilings, and lifting others.
A Month of Highlights
March has been a whirlwind in the best possible way. In the spirit of this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #AccelerateAction, we embraced opportunities to elevate women’s voices and achievements:
We were featured live on ITV, sharing our story and shining a light on the importance of female-founded businesses.
We collaborated with FearFree to launch Free the Night, the first event of its kind in our region.
We celebrated the women we work with daily, from female-led hospitality businesses to our own incredible team.
Making it to the last 16 brands of the 2025 Co-op Apiary Scheme where over 400 applications were received!
Celebrating Women Every Day
Women’s History Month might be coming to drawing to a close, but our commitment to supporting women in business, hospitality, and our community continues all year round. At Still Sisters, we believe that when women support women, incredible things happen—and we’re here to keep raising a glass to that.
So, here’s to the female founders, the risk-takers, the change-makers, and the women who lift each other up. Let’s keep the momentum going, not just in March, but every single day.
Join the conversation: Who are the inspiring women in your life? Tag them, celebrate them, and keep the support flowing.
